Smart Toilet Finder App Brings Relief To Japanese

The struggle to find an empty toilet cubicle in Japan is very real where time and space are at a premium. A Japanese telecommunications firm is launching a Toilet Finder App in March that will let users know where the closest open public toilet is in their vicinity. The app is meant to cut out unnecessary time wasting and increase productivity of Japanese workers who may find themselves spending time queuing to use the toilet.

Mediocre Demand For "Tailing", 7Y Treasury

Mediocre Demand For "Tailing", 7Y Treasury

If Tuesday's 2Year auction surprised to the upside thanks to trading rather special in repo, and yesterday's 5Y auction was poorly received with no repo tightness, then today's 7Y auction of $28 billion in Treasuries was set to be the most disappointing of all, after it was trading at a generous +0.50% in the repo market.

And, predictably, when today's 7Y printed at 2.197%, the lowest yield since October (if above the previous six auction average of 1.883%) it tailed the WI of 2.196% by 0.1bp, as once again there were few overhanging shorts to squeeze.

NASA Has Discovered 7 Earth-Like Planets Orbiting Nearby Star

NASA astronomers have discovered seven Earth-size planets around a nearby star, some or all of which could harbour water and possibly life. The exoplanets were spotted around a small, faint star in the constellation of Aquarius called called Trappist-1, less than 40 light-years from Earth, or 235 trillion miles away. Three of the planets found appear to host surface temperatures capable of sustaining liquid water and, therefore, oceans. The discovery has raised hopes that the hunt for alien life beyond the solar system could start much sooner than previously thought.
