Iraq: US Coalition Strikes Mosul Hospital Used By ISIS

The US led coalition conducted a “precision strike”  on a hospital in the Iraqi city of Mosul,  after saying its Iraqi allies had came under fire by ISIS fighters from the hospital complex. According to the US Central Command (Centcom), the airstrike targeted a building within the al-Salem hospital complex from where ISIS had launched heavy machine gun and rocket-propelled grenade fire on Iraqi forces. The coalition did not say if any patients or civilians were present at the scene of the airstrike.

ISIS Instructed Not To Attack U.S. In Secret Document

More evidence of cooperation between the US and ISIS has been uncovered in Iraq after local militia uncovered Islamic State documents near Mosul that instruct jihadists not to attack US coalition aircraft in Mosul or the surrounding area. During US election season, WikiLeaks confirmed what many already suspected, that the US government, or at least certain members of it, were implicitly aiding the Islamic State – with Hillary Clinton even accepting millions from the very same governments who fund the jihadist group.

Permanent Mideast Intervention Won’t Stop Terror

Last month, several Baghdad bombings attributed to ISIS killed more than a hundred civilians and wounded hundreds more. The attacks are a tragic reminder that Iraq is still a nation in turmoil. But they should also be a reason—more than 13 years after the decision to topple Saddam Hussein and undertake nation-building in Mesopotamia—to reevaluate U.S. policy in Iraq.
