Just over a week into the Trump Administration, the President issued an Executive Order giving Defense Secretary James Mattis 30 days to come up with a plan to defeat ISIS. According to the Order, the plan should make recommendations on military actions, diplomatic actions, partners, strategies, and how to pay for the operation.
Senator John McCain, a vocal and vicious outspoken critic of Donald Trump, has been caught posing with Al Qaeda and ISIS operatives in an embarrassing set of pictures posted online. Senator McCain called President Trump’s recent raid in Yemen a failure, continuing his tradition of criticizing Trump’s foreign policy, despite the fact that McCain himself has an extremely shady history when it comes to foreign policy issues.

A 20-year-old British chef from West Sussex, England, turned ISIS fighter, fighting alongside the Kurdish YPG in Syria, took his own life to avoid capture by the Islamic State. Ryan Lock died during an offensive by anti-ISIS fighters to liberate a village near the ISIS capital Raqqa in northern Syria. During the battle, the young Brit was surrounded by ISIS militants and apparently “turned the gun on himself” and committed suicide to avoid falling captive, in what is described as an act of “outstanding bravery in the face of a barbaric enemy,” by his Kurdish comrades.
