I'm not opposed to killing every ISIS member and recruit. After all, they're trying to kill us.

But Russia and the U.S.-led coalition haven't been able to wipe out ISIS with bombs.

Why not?

Military history shows that you usually cannot defeat your enemy unless you understand him at least a little bit.

The Islamic State terrorist group released a video on Wednesday claiming responsibility for the slaughter of dozens of Syrian journalists and media activists labelling them as spies of the ‘crusader coalition’. ABNA 24 reports: The ISIS-linked Al-Khair Media Center in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor province released a short film documenting the execution of more than 100 Syrian media workers at the hands of ISIS fighters.

For a long time there was still some skepticism whether Turkey was providing military and other support to members of the Islamic State. As we reported last week, that skepticism was promptly eliminated following the release of transcripts of phone calls that took place between Turkish military officers and Mustafa Demir, the ISIS commander in charge of the Syria-Turkey border.
