Auschwitz Survivor Is The World’s Oldest Man

The world’s oldest man is a Jewish survivor of the notorious Auschwitz Nazi concentration and extermination camps in southern Poland. Mr Israel Kristal survived back-breaking slave labour at Auschwitz and other Nazi concentration camps. He was born in Poland and was awarded the title of the world’s oldest man on March 11, aged 112 years and 178 days, by Guinness World Records. The Express reports: Receiving his certificate at his home in Haifa, Israel, Mr Kristal said he did not know “the secret for long life”. He said: “I believe that everything is determined from above and we shall never know the reasons why. “There have been smarter, stronger and better looking men than me who are no longer alive. All that is left for us to do is to keep on working as hard as we can and rebuild what is lost.” Mr Kristal, who was born on September 15 1903 into a Jewish Orthodox family, survived the First World War despite being separated from his parents.
