The Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010 has been linked to the shocking surge in stillbirths and baby dolphin deaths in the Gulf Coast. According to a new study, the dolphins inherited chronic illnesses as their mothers were exposed to oil. Researchers said the findings suggest the dolphins died in the womb or shortly after birth, and their lungs never had a chance to fully develop and inflate.
