Tens of thousands of French soldiers and police officers will be patrolling the streets and transport hubs during Christmas and New Year in France. The French interior minister has announced that the security measure is a general response taken in the face of a ” high” terrorist threat level and comes in the wake of recent attacks. RT.com reports: “For the end of year festivities, and especially Christmas weekend, there will be more than 91,000 members of the security forces deployed including members of the national police, national gendarmes and soldiers, as part of Operation Sentinel,” Interior Minister Bruno Le Roux said.
