Putin Asks US To Prove ‘Corrupt’ Allegations

Russia have demanded that the US Treasury Department backup their claims that President Putin is “corrupt” by providing evidence.  Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has accused the US government of making up the accusations saying that “none of these questions require an answer, because they are pure fiction“. Pravdareport.com reports: Earlier, Adam Szubin, the officer in charge of sanctions at the US Treasury Department suggested that the Russian president was enriching his friends and close allies while marginalizing those whom he does not consider his friends. “Whether that’s Russia’s energy wealth, whether it’s other state contracts, he directs those to whom he believes will serve him and excludes those who don’t. To me, that is a picture of corruption,” Szubin told the BBC. “He supposedly draws a state salary of something like $110,000 a year. That is not an accurate statement of the man’s wealth, and he has long time training and practices in terms of how to mask his actual wealth,” Szubin added. According to Dmitry Peskov, the material from the BBC was fictitious, slanderous and ungrounded. “If they leave such accusations without proving them, it then casts a shadow on the reputation of this department,” Peskov continued. “Now the department [...]
