OPEN LETTER TO MINISTER-PRESIDENT SEEHOFER(Sent before the carnage in Berlin's Christmas market)

Dear Minister-President Seehofer,

I would like to commend you on your opposition to mass uncontrolled immigration into Europe. One would think that it would be trivial to praise politicians – who are elected to uphold law and order, meaning our culture and values – for doing so, but these are the times we are living in.

German Police Release Suspect In Berlin Truck Attack

Following an awkward admission earlier on Tuesday that the German police may have detained the wrong person, moments ago Reuters reported that Germany's chief federal prosecutor office said the detained suspect in the Berlin Christmas market attack has been released, adding that he does not have enough evidence up to now to pursue case against the suspect.

"The investigation up to now did not yield any urgent suspicion against the accused," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

Police May Have Arrested Wrong Suspect Over Berlin Attack

German police are on high alert and have said they may have arrested the wrong man over the Berlin  attack, and the real culprit could still be at large and armed and dangerous. Germany’s chief prosecutor Peter Frank told a press conference: “We must get used to the idea that he was possibly not the perpetrator or that he didn’t belong to the group of perpetrators” Police meanwhile have urged people to remain “particularly vigilant” and to report “suspicious movement” to a special hotline.

Following yesterday's deadly terrorist attack, in which a truck driver rammed into a crowded Christmas market, killing 12 and injuring 48, the German mood has been dour, deteriorating further this morning when the interior minister of the German state of Saarland said on Tuesday that Germany is in a state of war. "We must say that we are in a state of war, although some people, who always only want to see good, do not want to see this," the minister, Klaus Bouillon, told German broadcaster SR.

In the latest gaffe for German authorities, one which could further impact Merkel adversely if confirmed - something the Euro confirmed when it just tumbled to fresh 13 years lows -  moments ago Die Welt reported that according to German police, the man from Pakistan who was arrested as a suspect in the attack on a Berlin Christmas market that killed 12 people on Monday was not the actual perpetrator.
