Dutch lawmakers have voted to ban weapons exports to Saudi Arabia over the kingdom’s violations of humanitarian law, making the Netherlands the first country in the European Union (EU) to follow through on a motion by the European Parliament in February.
The political and media adviser to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has said it is now time for the US to put pressure on Turkey and Saudi Arabia to stop supporting the terrorists that are wreaking havoc in Syria. According to Press TV, Bouthaina Shaaban made the remarks during an interview with the Lebanon-based al-Mayadeen television channel on Tuesday, a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that “the main part” of the Russian forces would start to withdraw from Syria.

While fibbing over its human rights record to the UN, the Kingdom currently plans to hang three juveniles on the basis of confessions that were extracted under duress. Bandar al-Ali, the Saudi Minister of Culture and Information, made his comments in a speech delivered to the UN in Geneva in response to a report delivered to the Human Rights Council by Juan Mendez, the special rapporteur on torture.
